Vehicles in Germany's City Discovered Covered with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Police State

Incident location Affected vehicle Local Law Enforcement
Authorities mentioned they were contacted by a resident who discovered a vehicle in Hanau smeared with reddish liquid

Around fifty vehicles have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postal boxes were defaced, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they announced in a statement.

Officers report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday night, when a man observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued fluid.

The fluid had been placed in the form of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Law enforcement then found multiple other vandalized automobiles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the public display of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement report initial examinations suggest the fluid was likely human blood.

"At present there remains no lead as to where it came from; investigators are presently not aware of any injuries in relation with the event," they added.

Municipal representatives said they were attempting "to unravel the case" and have requested to the residents for tips.

A high-ranking official said the vandalism made him without words and had to be addressed quickly.

"This incident strikes at the center of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the extremist attack in 2020," he wrote on social media, referring to the murder of nine individuals by a assailant focusing on residents of foreign heritage in February 2020.
